FIC To Launch A Campaign To Offset The Planned HST

FIC has amended our initial federal report in order to help offset the negative impact of the planned Harmonized Sales Tax within the provinces of Ontario and British Columbia. In addition the new report outlines the economic benefits of implementing the tax credit within the province of Québec, which already has a similar HST system in place. Even though FIC is still working diligently with our government relations firm, Sussex-Strategy Group to gain an HST exemption for fitness clubs. We are also pursuing our fitness tax credit initiative to make gym memberships tax deductable and to provide the government{s} of Ontario, Québec & British Columbia with an alternative if they are not willing to provide an exemption for fitness clubs.

With the new report in hand, FIC will launch a new media and government relations campaign to showcase the new report. For more information on the new report, or to receive a copy when available, please email: info@ficdn.ca or call 1 866 402 FICC (3422).
